Personalized Bar Mirrors
I’d have never guessed how the most relaxing place that I’ve ever been was not actually where I expected. It was a bar. That’s right, I’m talking a bar with bottles behind the bar, local people singing karaoke, bar mirror including a dart board on the wall. Well, I suppose it had been more like a pub. As opposed to the typical draft beer, it had Guinness on tap and the Bar Mirrors highlighted precisely-poured pints proudly.
Not being totally sure of our way around, my buddies and I happened upon this unique place in Cincinnati. My pal had been doing a concert there and so I considered I’d tag along for support, a tune, and possibly a drink or two. But I was in fact surprised from the surprise little diamond in the rough which I discovered. This hole in the wall may have been the place to find every single category of person from college drunks to casual retirees. It had been, just like many bars, a refugee camp for those who had seen a challenging days work. It had that mothering nature to it like you just felt there.
The Red Roger. The bar was named after a local musician and also was full of souvenirs. The venue was filled with custom made bar mirrors, neon signs on the wall and old-fashioned beer signs all over the place. Because it seemed to be so little, everybody was packed and comfy, tucked away with each other inside the crowded bar. Each bar mirror made the location appear larger than it was, but it couldn’t have been more than a few college dorm rooms wide and possibly one long.
Even though authentic environment drew me in, it wasn’t the point that stuck in my mind more. There was trains everywhere! Trains had been everywhere. Little toy trains sat on shelves, a model train made its way around a track over our heads, and railroad signs covered the walls. A few even blew little puffs of smoke! Antiques sat behind the bar. A number of the trains had compartments painted with beer makers’ logos. Some were decorated to match the personalized bar mirrors and décor of the bar. Several trains illuminated and made chugging noises, which kept the bar filled with noises. The tiny trains climbed little hills and also passed through tunnels all around the bar. Trains were in the bathrooms, chucking throughout the urinals just like I wasn’t alone needing to make a quick delivery!
Inspite of all of the confusion and turmoil between the locomotives and also the drinking, it retained a neat and clam composure in contrast to any upscale restaurant could. I couldn’t believe that would be possible! Customized bar mirrors read “Alcohol could possibly be man’s worst enemy, however the Bible says love your enemy,” but it kept its solidity of without missing a beat. The spot kept its volume to a dull roar, despite the fact that they had at least 30 people inside, elbow to elbow.
Just after my trip there, I started to notice the different bar atmospheres and so I thought about what made this unique one so different. It wasn’t how the bartenders were funnier or that the personalized bar mirrors had far better pictures and phrases. It wasn’t the common Irish atmosphere or perhaps the train set collect fit to spoil just about any child sour. It had been the magic it had over its inhabitants, the calm it equally gave to those there. Though I’ve looked, I still haven’t found anywhere like it. Extraordinary in nature, the Blind Lemon stuns me even now.
